The B-Side Players

The B-Side Players are a 9-piece band part of a new movement in popular music. A band that honors the international cross-pollination that has always made music the universal language. They use any beat that catches their ear, regardless of geography or genre, to create a compelling, horn driven polyrhythmic groove. They continue exploring the multifaceted grooves of Latin America and the Caribbean, incorporating the sounds of
Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil with the funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop rhythms of their homeland, dropping bits of Cumbia, Salsa, gritty street Samba, Son Montuno, Jarocho and Boogaloo into the mix.

The B*Side Players have been laying down their own inimitable latin global funk since they came together in 1994.Their incendiary live shows have defined them as local favorites with 10 San Diego Music awards. Meanwhile their albums showcase a band with restless musical intelligence, effortlessly blending genres to fashion their own forward
looking, latin flavored soul music. As an eight piece band the players are known for igniting crowds with their fierce rhythms and uplifting message of unity and consciousness. Meanwhile always keeping their focus on the political climate of the world and nation. The B-Side Players are a living and breathing cultural art experience for the mind
body and soul.

Cumbia Machin

Cumbia Machin is an Electro-Cumbia band that combines the use of live electronics

The Zendrum is not a typical instrument and it is used by Joaquin Hernandez to continue playing music due to the disabling effects of Focal Dystonia in the right hand. Focal Dystonia is a genetic nervous disorder that surfaced after years of playing the drums. There is no known cure for Focal Dystonia at this moment so a doctor told Jack do something or try and figure out another way to play. That reinvention and new inspiration led to the heavy programming of sequencers and with midi machines to create music.

Cumbia Machin has provided opening stage support for:
Bomba Estereo, Botellita De Jerez, Mexican Institute Of Sound, Mexican Dubwisser, La Santa Cecillia, Very Be Careful, and Sonidero Travesura

DJ Unite

Unite first started playing gigs with Tribe of Kings as early as 1997, and has never looked back. Originally choosing to play strictly Classic Reggae oldies, he has grown into a well rounded Reggae DJ, playing the best in all Reggae genres. Unite is also known for being well versed spinning Hip-Hop, Funk & Soul, and Latin music. Unite spent the summer of 2008 touring the United States with Slightly Stoopid, Pepper, and Reggae Legends Sly & Robbie and Taxi Gang; 2009 with Slightly Stoopid, Stephen Marley, and Snoop Dogg; 2010 with Slightly Stoopid, Cypress Hill, and Collie Buddz with New Kingston; 2011 with Slightly Stoopid, Rebelution, and Schwayze & Cisco Adler performing DJ duties for the tours. While playing professional gigs at night clubs is where Unite can usually be found, he prefers to do his work after 2 am, playing to crowds who would rather dance than sleep.

His other works includes a Hip-Hop project with First Power Crew and a Cumbia project with Sonido de la Frontera featuring Frontman Karlos Paez (of the B-Side Players), and Mr. Henshaw (of First Power Crew).
