Celebrating its sixth year fostering the rich folk tradition of giving and openness and propelled by an innate need to tell a story in its naked acoustic state, 2013′s edition of The Revival Tour features Dave Hause of Loved Ones, Rise Against frontman Tim McIlrath, LA’s Jenny O., Americana singer/songwriter and original tour organizer Chuck Ragan, and Seattle-based singer/songwriter Rocky Votolato, with additional artists to be announced. The Revival Tour will bring the much-celebrated camaraderie that it is based on and the collaborations that are bred from its essence. Loosely structured in the form of old-fashioned folk musician get-togethers, The Revival Tour is an ensemble collective in which the participating musicians collaborate and jam, frequently creating unique and inspired once-in-a-lifetime moments of brilliance – often multiple times in a single night. “Being a part of The Revival Tour last year in Europe was definitely one of the best tour experiences I’ve ever had,” says Votolato. “It reminded me of why I got into playing music in the first place. The spirit of collaboration, humility, and camaraderie keeps the shows feeling real and immediate every night. Chuck Ragan’s work ethic and passion for what he’s doing are inspiring and I’m honored to have the chance to share the stage with him again on this upcoming run of shows!”
Tim McIlrath of Rise Against Biography
Tim McIlrath began his musical career in the Chicago local alternative rock/punk scene during his teenage years. Later in his career, he helped form the band Rise Against, where he enjoyed huge success with singles such as, "Swing Life Away," and "Life Less Frightening."
Chuck Ragan of Hot Water Music Biography
Simply put, they don’t make musicians like Chuck Ragan anymore. For nearly two decades Ragan has traversed the country and the world—first with his celebrated punk act Hot Water Music and later as a solo troubadour—to bring his music to the masses. Correspondingly Ragan’s third solo album Covering Ground is as much of a love letter to his transient lifestyle as it as a concession to the loved ones he often has to leave behind and is also undeniably his most honest and accomplished album to date.
