The 1975 Biography
Over the last ten years, singer/guitarist Matt Healy and his bandmates Ross MacDonald, Adam Hann and George Daniel have been molding the alt-rock band that we now know as The 1975. The Manchester, England-based band has played under multiple monikers over time (not too surprising for a group whose members joined forces at age 14), but it is as The 1975 that the group is starting to ride the wave of success that comes with interviews, exclusive song premiers, and recognition from iTunes as a band to watch. Since the release of their debut EP Facedown in September 2012, The 1975 have unveiled pop-trending songs like "Sex" and "Chocolate" in addition to a slew of tracks that are more ambient and true to their indie-rock identity. With four EPs now unleashed on the world and a debut album set for release on September 9, The 1975 are looking like fine candidates to launch the next episode of music's British Invasion.
