Project Walk Biography
Project Walk Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center is an international non-profit organization based in Carlsbad, CA. We are dedicated to improving the lives of those who have sustained paralysis due to a spinal cord injury. Through our intense exercise-based recovery program, education, support, and encouragement, our clients are given the HOPE that there is life beyond a wheelchair. Project Walk’s first annual benefit concert, MOVE with Music, will feature a demonstration of Ekso, a bionic exoskeleton that allows individuals with spinal cord injuries to STAND and WALK (http://eksobionics.com/). The primary goal of this event is to create more awareness about spinal cord injuries and to raise funds to support our clients. Each year 11,000 spinal cord injuries occur in the United States alone. These injuries happen in an instant to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Many of our clients were given less than a 10% chance of ever walking again and a majority of them were told they had zero hope for recovery. All donations and funds raised from this event will assist in our clients continued progress down their road to recovery!
