Tolan Shaw Biography

San Diego native Tolan Shaw is an accomplished singer/songwriter who crafts songs based on his travels and life experiences, though he is perhaps better known for his time fronting the San Diego-based band The New Archaic. After winning the Best New Artist and Best Alternative Album awards at the 2009 and 2010 San Diego Music Awards respectively, the band was in high demand to open for international acts such as Switchfoot, Dashboard Confessional, and Third Eye Blind at some of San Diego's top concert venues.

As a solo artist, Tolan's work is heavily inspired by travel, spiritual discoveries, nature, and all of the larger questions in life that every person encounters at one time or another. Though his solo work differs greatly from the musical styles of The New Archaic, his onstage performances are just as captivating.
