X-Clan
Lumumba Carson aka Professor X is the son of the late activist Sonny Carson; who was also my Elder and teacher. The Carson bloodline has always stood for freedom, justice and equality. The Blackwatch Movement was the idea of Lumumba Carson to combine the tactics of his bloodline with the music and culture called Hip Hop. From the time my father Samuel Hunter gave me permission to join the Blackwatch Movement, I felt empowered in the ever-growing network of consciousness. As a young teenager Blackwatch gave me an affiliation option over street gangs, boy scouts, Jr. Masonic, etc. The Movement was an opportunity to research the pro and cons of being an African in the United States of America.
Everyday in the offices of the Blackwatch, we learned from Elders that were true soldiers in the war against oppression and racial genocide. The Blackwatch Movement was a school for young poets, musicians and producers who were loyal to the mission of liberation. We inherited the RED, BLACK and GREEN flag as our banner, a symbol of our dedication to FREE THE LAND, FREE THE CULTURE and FREE OUR BLOODLINE from slavery. One of the most memorable quotes in music history was a signature phrase from PROFESSOR X: “VANGLORIOUS! THIS IS PROTECTED BY THE RED, THE BLACK AND THE GREEN WITH A KEY SISSIEEEEEE!” (Sissy!)
I would like to salute the protection that PROFESSOR X provided me as I grew up to become a stronger representation of my culture and my people. When the late SUGAR SHAFT and I came to the Blackwatch Movement as the X-CLAN, we never thought that the marriage of the messenger group and the movement would create a legendary effect on Hip Hop culture. I am proud to have served at the front line with PROFESSOR X, he had a vision to serve the message of life through HIP HOP and I will continue to uphold the original vision of the BLACKWATCH MOVEMENT.
The mission of the X-CLAN continues! The 2006 album “RETURN FROM MECCA” will introduce the next generation of the messenger group. The surviving members of the original X-CLAN hold pivotal positions in the evolution of conscious music. The GRAND ARCHITECT PARADISE is currently in league with the restructuring of the BLACKWATCH MOVEMENT and serves on the Elder Council of the X-CLAN. The GRAND VERBALIZER FUNKINLESSON BROTHER J is the chief spokesman for the 2nd generation of the X-CLAN and a part of the restructuring of the BLACKWATCH MOVEMENT for the new MILLENNIUM as well.
