In the mid 1990s, brothers J. John and J. Benjamin sold their possesions and, with their
parents, left the United States to live overseas. Their travels took them through Southeast Asia, Russia,
the Middle East, and Europe before returning them to the States. The family traveled the country
looking for a home, and finally settled in San Diego.

The boys became involved in music, and formed a post-punk group called Dehra Dun (named
for a city in norhtern India where they lived). Through Dehra Dun they met drummer, and
mulit-instrumentalist, J. Benedict. John started The Silent Comedy as a folk-inspired
side project in 2005. He, Benjamin, and Benedict enlisted the help of J. Michael, I. Forbes,
and friends from other bands to begin performing live.

After several rough EPs, the band released a self produced full length album (Sunset Stables)
on August 3rd, 2007. After several short, self booked, trips around California and Nevada, the
band ordered another pressing of Sunset Stables (the initial run was 1000 units) just six months
after its release. In late 2007, the band began recording a new EP at XIV Recorders with
Brian Karscig (Louis XIV - Atlantic Records) producing. Continuing a tradition of collaboration
begun by their live show, the new EP features guest performers from San Diego based bands
Louis XIV, Get Back Loretta, and Transfer. The band will be began selling the EP on a
west coast tour in April 2008. They joined San Diego’s Get Back Loretta on dates in California, Oregon,
Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Nevada.
