The Drowning Men

The Drowning Men are four long time San Diego friends who have grownup together and been in various bands with and without each other over the last 15 years. From fast punk to traditional Irish folk bands and now a multi-instrumental, and rich layered project with a sonic sound. The Drowning Men’s sound is not far off from the orchestration of Arcade Fire, the drone of Interpol, the ruckus of Man Man, the mood of The Walkmen, with the accents of both Modest Mouse and Talking Heads. Their 6-song self released EP “Kill the Matador” features acoustic and electric guitar, electric bass, drums, synthesizer, mandolin, bouzouki and fiddle. Over the last year The Drowning Men have been stirring up a buzz and a gaining a hungry fan base playing shows at the House of Blues San Diego, Belly Up Tavern, The Casbah, The Beauty Bar, Canes Bar and Grill, and festivals such as the SoCO Music Experience and the 26th Adams Ave Street Fair.
