The Cured
The Cured is a San Diego based realistic 80’s rendition of the superband The Cure. We do a true to era 1989 Cure concert complete with costumes,
lights, effects and of course the songs.
We started the band after seeing other great tribute bands such as The Atomic Punks and Dead Man’s Party. We decided we wanted to do a tribute band, but which band should we cover? We knew it had to be 80’s since that was the radess of all decades (maybe the 60’s was, but I was still a zygote). We also knew it had to be a band with enough hit songs that everyone would recognize and be able to dance to. We decided it should be either a Duran Duran, INXS or The Cure tribute. INXS was a negative as soon as the TV show “Rock Star” came out and they hired that lame singer. We then came to the conclusion that Duran Duran was out as they were too pretty and we’re not, we would have had to hired young girls to pull that off. So by a matter of elimination we decided that The Cure would be the best 80’s act we could cover. Turns out it was absolutely the correct assumption.
The Cure has a TON of hit songs, we get to be theatrical and all the girls in the audience dance and sing along at all our show.
