When Randy Fontaine chooses a tune for the Swingers , he dips into the treasure chest of music by Cole Porter, the Gershwins and Rodgers and Hart. A scholar of tin-pan alley, Randy preserves the melodies, style, and innocence of the 1930’s and 1940’s. On stage, his ascot in tune and hair slicked to perfection, Randy Fontaine leads the Swingers into a lively rhythm which purrs across brush-striked drums. Randy, himself delivers the melody smooth as silk. Randy has an immense arsenal of instrumental all-stars dedicated to the fine art of swing. Randy’s current assembled cast includes Tommy Ajax-guitar, Marvell Washington-bass, Don Quayle-sax and Cal Cutta on drums. For those old enough to remember and young enough to be intrigued by the classic melodies of the Swing Era, Randy Fontaine and the Swingers have created their own brand of good time music. Randy’s renditions of showtunes and jazz standards continue to charm guests at night clubs, weddings, and parties. Randy Fontaine and his Swingers have played an eclectic array of assignment. The band has appeared at many of the most popular and prestigious music venues in San Diego and San Francisco including the Casbah, Bodies, Belly Up Tavern, Club 181 and the Cafe Du Nord.
