Ishmael and The Peacemakers
Ishmael the Peacemaker ~ singer, songwriter, and drummer. Ishmael started his musical career in Barbados w.i. where he was born. After a few number one hits with his high school group The Draytons two, Ishmael made his way to the United states. Ishmael had great success with groups such as Black Sheep from Philadelphia and The Killer Bees from Austin Texas. Ishmael and the Peacemakers started out in 1994 after Ishmael moved to San Diego from Austin. The new incarnation of Ishmael and The Peacemakers was formed in 2009 featuring members from Vegitation. Ishmael has put out three of his own cds and has just released ‘Gracious Gorilla’, his fourth. He has been spreading his words throughout the world and is extremely excited about bringing positive music to the masses. Ishmael has toured with such artists as, Freddie McGregor, Pablo Moses, Eek-a-Mouse, Don Carlos, Leroy Sibbles, Mutabaruka, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Michigan & Smiley, and Alton Ellis amongst many others.
