M/\ZZ got his first set of tables at age 16. Gemini XL 500’s In the beginning he would scratch old records from his dads collection. His older brother would take him downtown to pick through the many shelves of Baltimore’s grimy downtown record stores looking for the club hits. His first albums included DJ Technics, DJ Boobie, 2 Live Crew, Bob Marley, Beastie Boys, Rick James, Led Zepplin, The Culture Club, The Bee Gees, The Temptations, Michael Jackson and The Tom Tom Club. He still plays all the hits from these records today.

He played parties throughout high school and into college. He would play anything that someone would let him bring his equipment to. His first party ever was the Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield fight in 1997. He will never forget that party playing for a bunch of party people in their 20’s while he was only 16.
After a semester in college he decided it wasn’t for him and he let the music disappear to the wayside while settling into different beach towns in Florida, Maryland and eventually California. He ran into one of his childhood friends, DJ HOFF in Los Angeles in 2007 and went to a record label party with him where they decided they needed to start running their own parties. H[]FF had been DJ’ing ever since they both had gotten started 10 years ago and was doing well for himself. They started throwing parties and M/\ZZ got back into DJ’ing in the summer of 2007. Look for M/\ZZ dropping beats in and around San Diego, L.A., San Francisco, Baltimore, D.C., Philly and beyond.
