Barbara Nesbitt

Singer/songwriter Barbara Nesbitt, new to San Diego from her home in Virginia, has been captivating loyal friends and fans for many years. In Virginia, she supplied the vocal energy for the groove-oriented band, Rare Daze and brought her own original songs and sound to the rock band, Cradle. She also allied with fellow guitar player/singer/songwriter, Bernie Lee, in the acoustic duo, Perpetrators. She was nominated for several local music awards in Virginia, taking second place in the female songwriter of the year category, and first place as the acoustic performer of the year. She has shared stages with/opened for such artists as Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Jerry Garcia Band, Nickel Creek, Meredith Brooks, Robert Earl Keen, Hootie and The Blowfish, Keller Williams, Alana Davis, Lisa Loeb, Widespread Panic, and more.
Since arriving in San Diego, she has been joined by Bill Coomes (drummer/singer with Deadline Friday), Mike Spurgat (guitarist/singer with Deadline Friday and Citizen Band), and Miss Marcia Claire (bass player with Citizen Band and countless others) and is focusing on her original music. They, along with some surprise guests have just finished recording her debut album, “A Million Stories”, at Jeff Berkley’s, studio, Miracle Recording. She has also been recording and performing with the legendary Tim Flannery and will be appearing with him at some upcoming concerts. She was nominated for a San Diego H.A.T. Award, and won the San Diego Music Scene Cream of the Crop singer/songwriter competition.
